One designer thinks of a way to collect plastic waste from rivers, lakes and harbours and process it into usable products. The other turns plastic waste into a surprising object as a statement to create awareness. And a third develops a plate of corn waste as an alternative to polystyrene. At the exhibition ‘Rethinking Plastic: design with a mission’, twentyfive designers show how we can look at this maligned material differently or how we can deal with it in a different way.
